The War of Navarre

Long ago, almost every citizen on Veldren knew how to use magic, but everything changed after Aymer, the master of necromancy decided to build an army of dead warriors to try and rule the world. Aymer experimented with humans who are about to die and turned them into revenants, beings that can live forever as long as they consume blood. These revenants can be identified because their right eyes are always red. The War of Navarre lasted for 300 years and Aymer was defeated. After the war, the most prominent magic families who contributed the most in the war decided to only teach magic to their immediate family members and a few select peasants who pass the tests given by each family. This has been going on until the present time to prevent another war from happening.

The war was dubbed "The War of Navarre" for Navarre was the kingdom where Aymer ruled. After the war, the kingdom is now currently known as Herad.

Aymer’s followers still exist today and have called themselves “Reapers”, and turn people desperate to live to become a revenant to make his legacy live on.
